Traveling from Chicago, I definitely loved this menu full of specialty rolls! The crab wontons and the tempura green beans were great. I especially enjoyed getting the chef’s choice sushi roll, after giving some vague suggestions about what I typically like.
Awesome Nigiri and Sushi options. Great cuts of sashimi and generous fish on nigiri. Everything tasted super fresh. Staff were great and attentive. Vibe was easy and friendly.
First timer... the food was great. This is a super busy spot. Given that we had 3 appetizers and 4 rolls the cost was better than I thought.
It was considerably busier than I expected, and there was a bit of a wait before I was seated. My server was excellent, professional, and engaged. I like their approach to the sushi platter where they give you one of each instead of the usual chef's choice. Everything was fresh and well presented, also a bonus that they had Sapporo on tap.
Great place for a date or outing with friends. Has indoor & outdoor seating and chose to sit in the outdoor area. Excellent sushi, drinks, and appetizers. Great experience and very friendly staff!
Great atmosphere and place for any date. Make sure that you ask for the server Jack because he made excellent recommendations for the different sushi rolls. I made sure to order the Snap Dragon, the Red Dragon, the Red Ninja and the Escape. Out of all of these I was mainly impressed with the Red Ninja and the Escape.
Our inaugural visit to Sushi Republic left us with mostly positive impressions. The parking situation can be a tad tight, especially for larger SUVs navigating the ramp. However, for most vehicles, it’s manageable. The food offerings were decent overall. We particularly enjoyed the fried calamari and found the fried udon to be excellent. The sushi and sashimi platter impressed us with its freshness, although it’s worth noting that they don’t use traditional vinegar rice like authentic Japanese sushi. The fried rice was a standout—flavorful and satisfying. On the other hand, the chicken skewer and fried tuna mushroom left us somewhat underwhelmed. The restaurant’s atmosphere and service, however, were delightful. For Americanized Japanese cuisine, the food quality is commendable. Plus, the pricing is quite reasonable. Overall, a positive experience.
such yummy sushi! i debated getting another roll togo, but i had an hour ride home and didn’t want it to get nasty in the car. seriously tho, the lunch sushi set for 12 is diabolically delicious. the tempura was so wonderfully fried too!!
